Child's Crown Pattern

Here is a pattern for a child's crown I made. You can print it out on normal 8.5 x 11 cardstock. I am letting the boys decorate it to wear for our New Year's celebration tonight. Feel free to use it. Happy New Year!

Healthy-ish Cupcakes

Yesterday, I made 60 healthy-ish cupcakes for Nicholas and Lucas's school birthday parties. The recipe was passed along by Nick's teacher and I am not sure where it came from originally.  All the kids (and myself) loved them. Here is the recipe:

Applesauce Cake/Cupcakes

2 1/2 cups unbleached white flour

1 1/12 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup honey or sugar

2 cups applesauce

1 egg

1/2 cup oil

Mix together flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl combine the honey/sugar, applesauce, egg and oil. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to mix. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan or make them into cupcakes. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes if using 9x13 or 18 minutes if doing cupcakes.

Picture Day

This year we opted out of the traditional 8 x 10 school portrait and instead I took photographs of the boys myself. I uploaded and ordered them through Persnickety Prints. I am excited to get them in the mail and hang them on our wall soon.

Nick's Tooth

Nick lost his first tooth Oct. 22 2011. He is almost 6. He was very excited about it. I made the boys this moster pillow. They put their tooth in the mouth pocket until the tooth fairy exchanges it for some money. They love it!

Jayden as Thomas Edison

Cutie Pie Jayden was the lead guy (Thomas Edison) in a skit at school this morning. He had to speak in front of the whole school K-10th grade. He and his buddies did such a good job my eyes were tearing up a little. He never ceases to amaze me.

First Day of School

John Adams Academy Boys

Today is a big day! Nicholas and Lucas start kindergarten and Jayden starts second grade. They are going to a brand new school The John Adams Academy. I take them to school at 8am and pick up Nick and Luke at 12 and Jayden at 3:40. When I dropped them off we did a scavenger hunt around the classroom and then the teacher read The Kissing Hand book. I can't wait to hear all about their first day.

Lucas's Dream

"Mom, I had the best dream. Jesus came and helped me climb the biggest tree then he took me to the temple and then he took me to Target to get a toy. He helped me to run really fast and then gave me a jet pack to I could go all the way up to the sky. Then when it was time to sleep God came and slept right next to me!"

Reward and Chore System

We have a new reward and chore system in our house. It is working really well. When one of the boys does something we like, he gets a stick. They each have their own color of stick so they can not get mixed up. If he does something we don't like a stick can be taken away. Each stick is worth a certain amount of money and at the end of the week he can cash it in.

Learning Rocks

Today I made letter and number rocks for the boys. They love them.

What I Found in the Fridge

I opened the refridgerator and found a cute surprise note from Lucas. I says I love you, Mom and has Star Wars figures shooting in the background. Very sweet in his own kind of way. He is still learning how to write.

All About Jayden

Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day this year was wonderful. We went to church and the boys (reluctantly) got up and sang a song with the primary in sacrament. After church we went to our siblings home and the men BBQ'd for us.

Flattered

I was very flattered when a lady from church brought me this picture of a model from the clothing magazine Garnet Hill. She said this she thought this girl looked like me. I don't think so but I'll take it!!!

James Blunt and Christina Perri Concert

Annette (my SIL) and I got tickets to see James Blunt and Christina Perri in Reno for Mother's Day. We had so much fun. First we went to eat

Then when we were looking for parking when alien ship clouds appeared in the sky. RUN!

 Christina Perri opened the concert. She has a beautiful voice. Her most popular song and the one that helped quit her waitressing job in L.A. is Jar of Hearts. We were very pleasantly suprised she was there.

So, Annette is amazing because our tickets were for the back and side of the stage. Annette noticed chairs in the middle and a little more forward that were empty so went and sat in them. Much better, but not good enough for Annette. She then noticed TWO seats a little farther up so we scurried up to them. WAY BETTER we were about 5 seats back from the stage! I thought that was great but Annette kept scoping out the place. TWO FRONT ROW SEATS were OPEN! No freggin way. You can guess what we did. We couldn't believe it were were in the very front row for the whole concert. It was unreal and so much fun.

Folsom Temple

Last Sunday we visited the Folsom Temple. It is a smaller temple up on a little hill; beautiful as always.

Funny Hunter and Skirt

We were getting ready for church Sunday (March 2011) and Hunter stared doing this all on his own. When we started laughing he kept doing it. It was so funny. My Dad thinks he was wondering if he couldn't see us were we still there? Could be.

Club Nature Rules

The boys made up a club called "Club Nature". These are the rules of the club. I thought it was sweet.

Outside School

The boys are enjoying homeschool so much that they want to do it on a Saturday! Jayden is the teacher today and I am the principal. Here is the school they set up today.

Jayden, Lucas and Nicholas are in January 2011 issue of The Friend magazine on page 47! Here is what the page looks like:

They are in the bottom picture in front of the temple. Jayden is wearing a white shirt and Nicholas and Lucas are wearing blue shirts. The picture was taken during a fun primary outing in 2010 to the Washington D.C. Temple and visitor's center.

Horizons Homeschool

A lot is new lately. A new state, new house, and new school. I chose to do homeschool with the help of a charter school. It is going pretty well so far.

Christmas 2010

I like this picture because it has my late Grandma Delone in the background. Aunt Darnell had us over to her house for the first time this year. Aunt Judy came as well. We had a wonderful time.
