Frosty

We just a had snow storm and it left us with great snowman-making-snow. Jayden really wanted to make one so we bundled up and started building...and building...and rolling...and patting.
Luke and Nick's gloves kept sliding off so I spent most of the time putting them back on. Jayden did a lot of the grunt work. The twins were getting cold and sleepy so we took a break to lay them down for a nap.
Jayden and I went back out to finish our Frosty and have a snow ball fight. Fun day.

Marathon Anyone?

October 11, 2008 is the Baltimore Marathon (26.2 miles or 42.195 kilometers. My goal is to just finish it. I have never run more than 6 miles at a time so this will be a huge challenge. Who wants to join me? Seriously?
I am following Hal Higdon's 30 week Novice Supreme Training Program with some of my own modifications so I can take more time and rest on Sun. instead of Mon. I also have to do it when Child Watch at the YMCA is open.
I put the link to Hal Higdon's 30 week Novice Supreme Training Program on the side of my blog in case anyone wants to do it with me.

Sports Mix

Today, Jayden started his Sports Mix class at the YMCA. There are only 3 boys so he gets a lot of attention. One of the boys is his friend, Logan. They are learning the fundamentals of soccer first then others sports later. It will be very good for him. He is a bit of a perfectionist and when he didn't kick the ball in the net he would get frustrated. The coach, Coach Karen, is very fun and great with them.
Luke and Nick kick the ball around too.

Jayden the Sunbeam

Jayden is now in Primary as a Sunbeam! I can not believe how time flies. He already has a strong testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He loves to talk about Jesus and is fascinated with his life more so than anyone I know. He is happy to be in the big kid class now.

Nick and Luke are in the "older nursery". The Joans Falls Ward is so big, the nursery is split into two parts. Lucas calls Jesus "Jeese" and gets excited to see him. Nick is talking more and more now too. He also really likes to give kisses. They are all so special.

As for me, I got a calling just as soon as we got here doing Compassionate Service. So far I have had to coordinate meals for people who were just in the hospital because of illness or they had a baby. I am getting to know people I probably would not otherwise talk with much because of this calling. I am enjoying it.

Don is now a faithful believer once again. His testimony has grown tremendously since we moved into this ward. We are so happy and thankful for that. I am sure they will put him to work soon too.

Happy New Year 2008!

We started this year off with a delicious brunch at our friends, The Hales, home. It was a great way to kick off the new year.

Also, this year I resolve to eat FISH! I never liked fish much and now I am opening my mind and mouth to it. It is just too healthy and yummy to do without. I also resolve to run my first 1/2 marathon this summer. I have already begun training. Yeah! I hope you all have a healthy, prosperous new year.

Luke and Nick's 2nd Bday in Washington D.C.

Happy 2nd Birthday Luke and Nick! Thanks to those who sent gifts to them!!! On Saturday 12-29-07 the five of us traveled about an hour South of our home in Towson to Washington D.C. for a small family celebration. The boys and I have never been there so it was a real treat. Don has been there numerous times so he was our tour guide. First we drove around the National Mall to get aquainted with were things were. Then we spent most of the time checking out The United States Botanical Garden. They had the best train display we have ever seen. The boys were glued to it. They also ran around the lawn in front of the Capital for a while. We will have to go back often because their is soooo much to see and do there.

Christmas in Towson

This year was the a fun Christmas. The boys were in awe of it all. We had our own little family celebration in the morning and then went to our Bishop's home for dinner with a couple other families. I missed being with family though.
